2 The Oakdale Journal Thursday, May 14, 1998 Obituaries CLEMILE BAZILE Born: January 15, 1933 Died: May 4, 1998 Services for Mr. Clemile Bazile Sr. of Goudeau were held at noon Saturday, May 9, 1998 in Antioch Baptist Church, Goudeau, with Reverend Joshua Thomas Sr. officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.

Mr. Bazile, 65, died at 9:45 a.m. Monday, May 4, 1998 in Rapides Regional Medical Center. He was a native and resident of Goudeau. He is survived by his wife, Palmae Bazile of Evergreen; three sons, Sam Bazile and Jerry Bazile, both of Evergreen, and Clemile Bazile Jr.

of Bunkie; three daughters, Jewel Bazile of Oakland, California, Carol Lacarte of Austell, Georgia, and Sharon Bazile of Evergreen; one sister, Angeline Hayes of Evergreen; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchil TONY CHAMBERLAIN Born: November 24, 1956 Died: May 5, 1998 Services for Mr. Tony Wayne Chamberlain of Calcasieu were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 1998 in Rush Chapel, Hineston, with Reverends Gary Richardson and Tom Smith officiating. Burial was in Peniel Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home. Mr.

Chamberlain, 41, died Tuesday, May 5, 1998 in his residence. He was a resident of Calcasieu and co-owner of Autoplex. He served in the United States Air Force and the Air Force Reserve. He is survived by one son, Christopher David Chamberlain of Calcasieu; two daughters, Christina C. Lewis of Hineston and Sabrina Chamberlain of Knobostera, Missouri; his parents, Delbert and Margie Chamberlain of Calcasieu; one sister, Melisssa Bonner of Hineston; and one granddaughter, Summer Alyse Lewis of Hineston.

Pallbearers were Brian Thacker, Dwight Melder, Larry Cedars, Richard Sears, Dave Truck and Jimmy Dickens. EVERETT CLARK Born: September 28, 1924 Died: May 3, 1998 Services for Mr. Everett A. Clark of Forest Hill were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 1998 in Ardoin Memorial Chapel with Reverends Lee Nunley, Bill Lewis and Bob Rutherford officiating.

Burial was in Butter Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home. Mr. Clark, 73, died Sunday, May: 3, 1998 in St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. He was a native of Turkey Creek and a resident of Forest Hill.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Elam of Reeves; one son, Christopher Elam of Reeves; two daughters, Rhonda Elam of Houston, Texas, and Amelia "Amy" Elam of Reeves; one brother, Larry Elam of Reeves; and one sister, Georgia Fruge of Reeves. He had worked for the Elizabeth paper mill, Vernon Parish Sheriff's Department and was a retired farmer. He is survived by one daughter, Therisa West of Pitkin; one brother, A.C. Johnson of Pitkin; two sisters, Dessie Jacobs of Beaumont, Texas and Catherine Pittman of Pitkin; one granchild; two greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Laurence, 61, died Saturday, May 9, 1998 in her residence in the Quiet Cove Community at Toledo Bend.

She was a native of Oakdale, a housewife, and worked as a pastor's wife for 29 years. She is survived by her husband, Reverend Frankie Laurence of Florien; one son, Alton Lynn Laurence of Oakdale; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, Billy Frank Laurence. ELLA PALMER Born: June 11, 1927 Died: May 4, 1998 Services for Mrs. Ella Mae Rider Palmer of Dry Prong were held at 2 p.m.

Monday, May 4, 1998 in St. Francis Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria. She was a resident of Dry Prong and attended the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She was a foster grandparent for Pinecrest State Hospital and retired from Continental Bus Lines after 18 years of service. She is survived by three sons, Calvin James Doherty, Sr.

of Pineville, Alva Lee Whittington of Cleveland, Texas, and Dale Edwin Palmer of Pollock; three daughters, Theresa Sharlene Rider of Oberlin, Mildred "Millie" Coats of Pineville, and Sue Rosier of Deville; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
